Hello,

I’m new to this site, sort of stumbled across it while looking for flash tutorials. Any how. My question is this I want to build a flash portfolio. I have designed my interface and how its going to work. I know how to load in swf files into the stage.

My question is this whats the best way to display each separate swf file. since most of them have some sort of animation I don’t want them to just load on stage and start playing that would be a mess lol. I just sort of want them to be displayed as thumbnail button of sorts then click and then load in the actually swf and start playing.

Is it best to just make a jpg image of the swf file then do my load in when its clicked or is there a better way to do this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to FlashDen! You could create an animated thumbnail button for each particular swf file for example, which is some sort of preview of what one might see.

You basically need a gallery, how complex it needs to be depends on how much (categories, subcategories) you want to organize your portfolio.

Good luck!

That actually might be a good idea, one of the things I was going to put in my portfolio was a gallery that uses xml to load in images, I guess i load in swfs instead of images and kill two birds with one stone.

I will play around with that today thanks for the idea
