Sorry if this sounds unjustified… but I don’t think it is (I’m frustrated at the moment).

I have just recently had a file posted called Easy Photo Gallery which is an AS3 file. I then created an AS2 version and uploaded it a day or two after I uploaded the AS3 version, but did not feel like typing out the whole description again. So I just put “Coming Soon” and figured I would just copy the description from my AS3 file, since it would be posted first, and replace it right away when the AS2 file was uploaded.

So, now after waiting a week for the AS2 file to get through the queue, I got a rejection email, stating it was rejected because I could not have “Coming Soon” in the description. So, now I have to re-upload and have it sit there for another week.

I don’t recall anything in the upload instructions that specifies what you need to put in the description field. Let me know if I’ve missed something in the instructions, but I couldn’t find anything.

Hey sorry for the frustration but we just receive the statement from our Staff that all files have to include complete description in order to be approved, although we know you’ll update it soon.

The offical regulation for file quality and new uploading guideline are coming soon in next month,

Joe, I am not a flash reviewer but I can say that I reject files that do not contain an adequate description. It is something we require…it may not be stated, and if not, I’ll pass it along to staff to get it stated somewhere, but this is pretty common knowledge from what I understand…

RimV – That’s alright. I am just disappointed because I was anticipating the file to add a bump to my account at the end of the month, and now it’s not going to happen. Normally I fully fill out the description, but because of the reason stated previously.. and not having saved what I wrote, I knew I was just going to change it right away once it was uploaded anyways.

But, there really should be something noted about that. The directions for writing a description make it sound like it’s just for an authors benefit to be descriptive, not because of a regulation.

Try this if you think you’re frustrated : http://notdoppler.com/thefrustrationgame2.php :D

No really..that happened to me with my first Creative Template. I thought it would make a lot of $$$, but it got rejected for a clear reviewers mistake. But anyway..after it got uploaded it didn’t made so much sales as i thought it would :D So i guess i was even more frustrated after that :):)

man that’s one annoying game :))). As for the description, that should be stated in the instruction, I didn’t know about it either. Plus there has been an author (I remember, if needed I can provide the name) that did this a few months ago and it was OK. I know rules change for increasing the quality, and that’s a great thing, but I also think that as long as the rules aren’t updated, the author shouldn’t have to suffer over this :)

I also have a template that was rejected : “This File Requires Some Improvements / Fixes

Sorry, your file contains audio but it did not work in our preview. Please check your links. We also recommend you remove any spaces in your file names as this can sometimes cause server-side problems. Please upload again in the usual way once your file has been tested/fixed. Many thanks!

The mp3 files are on another server (those included are just an example of how the the site is structured) , and if you try to test it locally it won’t work , try publish preview and it does !!! , i also have full description , and a lot of help included , and no spaces in names or something like that , but still got a rejected file after 1 week of waitinig :(

unlimited: why dont you just have the mp3’s on flashden…?

if you are keeping them on another server you need to use a crossdomain.xml to allow this otherwise it wont work except for when you publish it within Flash..

It works :) i need an absolute path to the mp3 file , and on flashden i can’t do that. I have two mp3 players that work this way and were not rejected , only my template :) . MP3 player V3.0 is the player i have in my template and as you can see works just fine , i’m to blame too , i had a folder called MP3 and inside i had the mp3 files , but the mp3 player wasn’t using these , and probably the reviewer thought it wasn’t working . I uploaded it again and now i’m wainting for it to get approved also removed the mp3 files and specified in the comments for the reviewer how it works :)

On a positive note. I just want to give props to all of the reviewers for pumping items through the queue. The file I re-uploaded has already gone for 100 and something to 50. So, thank you for all of your work.

I just advise FlashDen to post any new regulations to everyone before they start making the reviewers implement new rules which would reject new uploads.
