MUSIC PACK IDEA

I’m just in the process of writing some easy listening/ambient background music for websites.The music is based around two motifs,I suppose you could say like a verse and a chorus.The main motifs are repeated,but variation is brought into the track by subtle evolving background pads,the introduction of bass and percussion and subtle lead flute/pad sounds. Now,I can just produce this as a track that has subtle variations and slowly evolves,but I also had the idea of breaking the track down and making a sound pack from it,so,I would produce seperate tracks of the subtley different parts,the user could then assign differnt parts of audio to different pages of a website adding more interest as the sound builds,and adding slightly different mood to each part. I could also inclde single tracks,ie bassline,percussion,pads,lead etc,so that you can experiment with it and build up a track to your own specifications ie,loop parts of it,fade parts in.Of course this assumes that you would be bothered to do this,so the question is: If you were looking for some music for a website,would this idea be useful to you,or would you be more likely to purchase it as just one full track? do you mean something like that, to create loops with an application, like this DJ-Mixer from abenson had this idea too, a client asked me for some looppacks a while ago

Wow,that is very nice work.Yes you could do something like this from it,but I was thinking more along the lines of just making a music pack,which,rather than being a selection of different loops,it would be one full track broken down into sub parts.The idea was that,if you have one loop as the background to a website it could get very repetative and boring,so I thought it would be good if when you clicked on different parts of a site,the music could subtley change,eg the home page could have a sparse melody and minimalist percussion,then as one clicks to another page the track fills out a bit with additional strings/bass or something. Not that this is some ground breaking idea or something,but I just wondered if it would be of some use to provide a pack like this.

ahhh now I understood… simple, but a really nice idea…. I think you should make a announcement in a new thread that call like this: “announcement to all flash authors for a special audio-used application… a collab with me, Slats” edit: and you could provide a example music pack just for this file…. that would be a promotion for other music packs that you can sell for this file here on FD you mustn’t do it exactly like that, just a example how i think… but it would informate all authors. I dunno if it should be a template or a app.. but a app would be good I think, cause many people have already a template, like me hehe I would buy it, so I love your idea

Actually,I have just uploaded an “Ambient Website Background Music Pack” (which I described) onto FD today,and it has just been approved,so hope people like it….feedback appreciated,going to release 1 part of it as a single loop as well(part of the quiet intro).
