Exclusive author Item was featured Referred at least one person Sold between 10 000 and 50 000 dollars Bought between 1 and 9 items

Although the reviewing process goes random, still the files are reviewed within 2-3 days or atleast not more than 5 days. Fine, but some times when the queue moves faster, some of the files are not staying much time on the first page while some of the files are lucky enough to stay there around 3-4 days.

Just a thought, the average number of files uploaded per week is not fluctuating that much. So why don’t display a fixed number of new items per day? Example, 15 or 20 new files per day (Even if more than 15/20 files reviewed). So all the files are guaranteed to display atleast for one full day.

Another benifit, this way some of the buyers regularly watching the new items can just check the page everyday in a fixed time instead of checking randomly.

I agree what you say and one more thing; the recent item page should only display items which have higher than a certain price. For instance $5. I don’t really understand why those slots are occupied by a $2 preloader for 4 days. I’m sure this will also increase the quality of FD products.

everybody should get an equal opportunity so I don’t think that is a good.

I have seen a lot of useful items priced under $5 too. I think new item page is just to show all the new items regardless of quality, category etc.

I think people who spend greater time should get greater opportunity.

10 days of development -> 3 days in recent items page
2 hours of work (a preloader) -> 3 days in recent items page

Do you think this is fair?

that is why a preloader gets a price tag of $3 mostly, so it is totally fair. Most of the authors start with very basic files and grow with the time.

If you have a closer look, you will see that a $3 preloader causes revenue loss due to occupying slots for no reason. I think the items with higher prices should be displayed more in the recent items page.

I will give you a simple example; one of the latest files digitalscience uploaded hasn’t sold very well because of insufficient display time. You can check the file here http://www.flashden.net/item/advanced-xml-video-gallery-2/21192 As you can see it’s a $25 product. Selling one copy of this product means $12.5 revenue for FD. In other words FD should sell 9 copies of a $3 preloader to make the same amount of money. This simple example explains it all. I think FD should use its resources more intelligently to be able to make more money. This will also make FD a more professional place for everyone.

uhm lydian has a point, good item some how should get more exposure than “mediocre” one

but this is a very gray area and should be considered carefully …
