It’s a misconception that FlashDen authors are obligated to support their files and it is not enforced by FlashDen in anyway. When buyers come to the site they are FlashDen’s clients and the author is simply the supplier of the files, taking a percentage of the purchase price per sale. But it is important for authors to support their files as a lack of support and a lot of negative comments on a file could lose potential sales. This usually happens if a file has a bug. If there was a glitch on my file I’d always try fix it and re-upload the updated version. The rest of support emails and comments are usually customisation requests or help integrating the file. Due to lack of time I cannot answer every single request so that’s just something buyers have to understand. Files here are dirt cheap compared to competitor sites so if you’re not willing to pay for support you’re not going to always get it here. But it’s good you took the initiative to figure it out on your own, that’s the best way learn.
I think we should clarify the fact that Authors are not responsible for giving free support anytime somewhere in knowledge base of customer.
Indeed, most popular authors try to satisfy all their customers but some of them just don’t realize and appreciate that.
Lastweek I was so busy that I had to ignore some emails for a few days, one of them requested me to look at the file to find the error she encountered (pretty sure it’s just user error) but I had no time at all, then she replied she has wasted money because of buying something from me and she learnt a lesson, blah blah blah. Finally she dropped me 1 star in the file
Btw, I kinda don’t like the rating system, it’s totally based on customers regardless the quality of files, if they don’t feel happy they give it bad rates.
