hi, I’m having a lot of trouble loading certain swf’s through loadMovie, either as a function or attached to a button. I have noticed that those that do work ok, that load up into an empty movie clip are the home grown swfs I have made myself. It seems that the swfs I purchase (and compile from the supplied fla’s) refuse to do the loadMovie into the empty mc thing.

If anyone could advise me on this before my forehead gets flat from headbutting the wall, that would be really really nice. Thanks and lots of them to anyone who can haul my fried brain out of the wok.

dockloader_mc.onEnterFrame=function(){ loadMovie(“pages/Dock/dockmenu.swf”,this); } sat on a frame, and

on (release, releaseOutside) { _root.dockloader_mc.loadMovie(“pages/Dock/dockmenu.swf”;); }

sat on a button a couple of mcs away from the main timeline.

I Also tried “GET” with the frame action but not with the button action.

Hope this clarifies things. I had also compiled my index.swf for flash player 9, and have made sure that was the case for all the flas > swfs on the job.

Thanks so much for taking some interest, by the way

Item was featured Referred at least one person Sold between 100 and 1 000 dollars

Possibly caused by the use of _root in the external swfs.

Try entering this line of code in the first frame on the main timeline of the misbehaving swfs (before any other code references _root) and recompile them :

this._lockroot = true;
