Lately, FD & FD users have made quite some efforts towards enriching the asset library. And those efforts have been rewarded and us authors have now lots of new images to work with. But… i was looking for some stock images for a gallery, or a template…not sure yet… and found that for some ideas i had, the asset library doesn’t really help me. Same goes for when i needed some FLV movies (apart for the 5 existing ones) for my players, that aren’t copyrighted material – i finally just recorded 2 video tutorials and used those. Couldn’t FD just make a contract with a stock photo site, so that FD users may use their photos for templates and libraries sold here? A good choice would be http://www.sxc.hu. SXC might not mind the advertising either, and FD could use that large database of images – so advantages would be double sided (3 sided if we count users of both sites).
Same thing for videos. There are sites that rely only on videos…i know at least some of them wouldn’t mind being visited of by the 47000+ users from FD…
