Hello flashers,

I got a question for those that have been longer than me… I have bought about 10 or more FD modules… all great work. But there is one that is giving me a lot of technical problems. I sent a request for help in the ITEM forum. I noticed I am not the only one with problems. About 5 days later, the developer responded saying he has been pretty busy… he said that he was going to help us by Saturday… that was almost 2 weeks ago and no help… I go almost every day to the ITEM forum to see if someone help us…. I am pretty sure this is an isolated case since I have never had such a hard time getting help from FD people… so what do I do? I paid $30 for a file that does not work for me and never got the help I was told I was going to get…. for sure… never buy from this guy again… but what else? any FD Admins listening?

thanks

edfar

nice one for not calling out the author here, thats very respectable of you.

if u are still having trouble u can contact one of the many authors here directly from their profiles as most of us can work freelance, u may want to contact tpncorp as i know he is always happy to help.

If after that u are still having problems u can email support :)

Hi edfar, flashjunkie is right, in this situation you can sent a ticket to support and we’ll see what we can do for you.

A good tip for the future, make sure you do a bit of research of the file before purchasing. On each file page we provide: - Rating of the file - The amount of time is sold - Quality of help document - comments/feedback from customers regarding the file.

With these informations it should give you some idea of how good the file is and how helpful is the author.

Thank you guys for the help….

I did check the history of the item and it looked good… I rush into buying it because they kept asking to rise the price of the item… I paid $30 for it and then everybody else started having problems… too late my $30 were gone baby gone…

Very reasonable… and thank you for the offer. I will have to decline your offer since I think that I should get what I paid for. I paid $30 for a file that I downloaded and used it as it is and does not work. I believe FD works the following way:

Client sees really nice Flash module Client must have product Client pays FD FD gets its cut Developer makes a profit FD releases product for download Client downloads product Client uses product Client is happy and gives a good rate to product More clients see it is a good product and buys it FD makes more money Developer makes more money too… And so on…

Flashjunkie also suggested contacting another FD developer so he can help me… and will not be surprised that that developer will want to get paid for some technical assistance. I am a designer freelancer and when I get paid I am expected to deliver…

This might sound harsh to you, FD developers, but it gets scary just to think that I will be buying a flash module for $30 and then end up paying more to get technical assistance from another developer… I am not suggesting this is a scheme you do so you all make more money off one single item. I have been around a while here and this is the first time I see something like this… And it gets more scaring when you see the guy who sold you a product for $30 and is not offering any technical support featured in the front page of FLASH DEN … don’t you think?

Again, thank you for your support guys and I still hope that Flash Den will back me up and deliver the system they built for all of us… a system of quality products, honest developers and clients with money…

edfar, i applaud your comments. i think you make some very good points, i have purchased quite a lot of files from FD and not all of them are as usable as the Authors state. i appreciate that there are comments to scroll through to help see if there are issues but i always seem to see them after purchasing.

To be honest i pass all these costs on directly to my clients, so i think it should always be costed into the job. i feel that the prices are very reasonable compared to the time it would take to make an item. so i always think of a bit of time spent “learning” how something works is never a bad thing.

however the assistance needed to understand something to get it working is vital and i think as a community there should be a set amount of “free” hours support dedicated to solving issues with files. (Im sure FD makes a profit so maybe they should cost that in to their plan to keep costomers happy).

As that may not happen for a while and if your still stuck, i would be happy to try and help you for FREE . i actually mean free so just contact me via my profile and if i can help i will. were all busy people with work to do but sometimes a quick chat with someone who knows different things can save a lot of time.
