Very nice! I would suggest that the scrollbar slider should stop when it reaches the far end of the scrollbar track. The way it loops makes it work a bit unexpectedly.

This flash file allows you to animate an external swf based on the location of a draggable object. This one for example has a 36-frame 3D rendered PNG sequence. This is useful for 3d objects, panoramas and other types of demos.
Customization is easy.
If your animation consists of more or less than 36 frames. You just import the artwork that you need in animation.fla and increase/decrease the number of frames that you need to match the # of frames in your animation.
Lastly in the main flash file, change the variable called
numberOfImages = 36;
Change 36 to equal the # of frames in animation.fla
Documentation provided.

It runs like that by default. This feature can be disabled by removing about 4 lines of code. I threw that in there to show a smooth animation of the object that doesn’t lock up while dragging.

instead of setting the number of frames manually you simply could have used the _totalframes property.

Nice.
I think the slider might be easier to use if you have the animation run automatically but with the speed/direction linked to slider position. That is to say, have the animation stopped when the slider centered and to let the animation run freely (left or right) when the slider is moved off center (speeding up the more the slider is moved)

Easy to set-up. So how do I make the scrollbar slider stop at both ends?
Do I delete lines 20-25?

Never mind, it’s a little choppy but deleting lines 20-25 worked for stopping on either sides.
Cheers!

I will like to know how to stop the scrollbar slider when it reaches the far end of the scrollbar track. I try to remove some lines in the code but not working. Thanks

It will be a good idea to add an inverse button, at the left, and a normal play button at right Just like that : http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsdt_630?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs for a future update…

Hi guys, loving the file!
Quick question for ya – I’m playing around with re-skinning the scrubber and changing the movie size but can’t seem to change the ‘drag area’...
I know its something to do with Line 17 in the code but can’t get the bloody thing to work!
Any help would be mucho appreciato!!
