3D OBJECT VIEWER

A useful script for viewing 3D objects as an image sequence contained within a movie clip with a slider to control the speed and direction the 3D object rotates. Simply drop this movie clip into your project and import your 3D object images. The script will allow for any number of frames and you can adjust the speed the 3D object rotates in the script. Mouse wheel support for the scroll bar.

Help file and comments in the code included.

Is there a way to to have the sequence of frames automatically rotate without having to use the scrollbar?

Posted 8 months ago

keyvisuals You could, you just need to change the initial starting point of the scrollbar in the script. Or you could delete the scroll bar completely and just set the variable “num” to a positive or negative number depending on which way you want it to rotate and how fast.

Hi Digitalscience, I’ve got a website and I would like to use this world with my logo on it, is it possible? how? Please! I can send my logo to you to see if it is possible, ok? Thanks!

Liraprod Well in the .fla file you get the png sequence of the globe, so you could use one of the frames for your logo. Each frame is in greyscale and I’ve added an advanced colour tint in flash to give it that blue colour.

Very nice!

Three questions:

1) How many individual images are you using in your globe example?

2) Is it easy to change the colour scheme – for example I think I’d be working with photos of objects on a white background.

3) Can you change the movie to look for images in an external folder, rather than having to import them?

Many thanks.

Sorry, fourth question: Would you consider augmenting this with ‘zoom’ functionality?

johngoodalldotcom To answer you questions:

1) In this globe example there are 80 frames, but the script will allow for any number of frames.

2) I’ve used transparent PNG ’s so the background can be any colour so I would suggest doing the same. If your background is going to be white you probably won’t need transparency and could use jpegs.

3) You probably could have script that could load them in externally. Not sure how you would get them on different frames though.

4) To zoom you could just make 2 buttons, one increases the scale of the movieclip and the other decreases the scale, fairly easy to do if you know a bit of ActionScript.

Hi DS How can play and pause object_mc?

Posted 3 months ago

nice one!

just to confirm, i suppose we can use this file to make an object rotate like….let’s say a quicktime VR for object.

do you reckon having 36 frames would still look smooth, which is 1 pic per 10 degree rotation?

cheers
