How to?

(video)

Resize the file!

Go to frames instead of links!

Very important to read!

Features:

1. Supports unlimited images.
2. Supports html formatted description text.
3. Fully customizable – XML driven.
4. Images loaded from external folder.

Really important! Please read very carefully.

You can add unlimited number of images to the accordion, and customize it to any swf and image size.

The file has been updated and some BIG issues have been addressed. I recommend this FREE update to all that bought the file. I added the features MOST of you requested, and I cleaned the code a bit.

1. The file is contained in a single movieclip, and this way I was able to mask everything to fit nicely on the stage. This means the file can now easily be used in other Flash files as well.

2. The _root has been removed from the code, and instead I’ve change the paths accordingly. This is another improvement so that the file can be used in other Flash files too.

3. I’ve added much more functionality in the XML as well as inside the file, and you can read about it below.

The current version now includes flashvars variables, so that one doesn’t need to edit anything in Flash. Simply edit the html code.

I’ve included an example that doesn’t use flashvars as well, just in case you plan to use the file in another way. The only changes are the way those variables were passed.

There is a new help file included, which I am hoping everybody will read.

Inside index.html you’ll see this line of code:

var so = new SWFObject("Accordion.swf?keepSelected=false&selectedWindow=0&imageWidth=315&imageHeight=300&sWidth=590&sHeight=300", "sotester", "590", "300", "8", "#000000");

You can see I am sending these variables to the swf file:

    keepSelected = false // if set to true, the selected image will always be displayed. This was a request and I thought I should add it.

    selectedWindow = 0 // you can write any number between 0 and the number of images you set. If you want to keep the selected image but start with no image, set the selected window to -1

    imageWidth = the images width. All images need to be the same width.

    imageHeight = the images height. All images SHOULD be the same height. I would suggest you to keep the images height equal to the swf height.

    sWidth = the width of the swf file. Note you also need to set it were it's sent as a parameter, in the above line of code. The value is 590 and is sent twice. You need to do the same.

    sHeight = the height of the swf file. Note you also need to set it were it’s sent as a parameter, in the above line of code. The value is 300 and is sent twice. You need to do the same. (I'm not refering the the imageHeight variable)

    slideshow = true - this will enable auto slideshow between the slides of the Accordion

The XML file holds more settings you might want to check.

The text can be html formatted.

The only variables that might not mean something from the first time you look at them are:

color="0x000000" alphaColor="0"

This is a layer that goes over the image when you move the mouse on top of the images. The color and the alpha of this layer can be set here.

Questions are welcomed.

New files

Yes. I am not available for freelancing work before the 5th of January.

Posted 18 days ago

Righto. Works great but pathing different directories tends to make having different copies of deploy about the place to get it to work in the directories.

Issue. Loaded as a header in a php page.

Will load in Google Chrome 1 browser Will NOT load in Explorer 7 browser.

Both browsers have flash player 10 installed.

The file loads in explorer but is blank. Both browsers calling the same file that works in Google Chrome.

Any ideas on this one?

Cheers Paul

You don’t need to make multiple copies of the deploy folder, but write the right path in the XML .

Thanks Bob

The pathing is not my main issue.

The odd thing is the example here on flashden is visible in both browsers no problem.

On my domain it is not visible on explorer no mater where or how I path the files.

Works on any path with Google Chrome.

That has me confused.

Any other suggestions?

cheers Paul

ok here is an odd addition to this issue. It is obviously something wrong this end not the file.

The file extracted straight out of the zip file. When I load the accordion.html page without editing anything, nothing shows. The flash is there but blank.

No matter what I do with it, it refuses to work with explorer.

A link?

I just uploaded the deploy out of the box and it works in both browsers – odd.

What I cool file I have! :D :p Works nice. ;)

Posted 2 days ago

Works nice in explorer 7? Members are saying it is not…

Posted 2 days ago

It depends if the users are making changes to it or not in the way the file is embedded. If the preview works, than it should work for everyone.

Righto Bob.

There must be conflicting javascript that is preventing it from running in explorer with the forum. The only browser it does not show up in is explorer.

Is there another way to load the file without javascript?

Posted about 22 hours ago

Well I have tried and tried for hours and hours and still no luck.

I now have direct http paths to all files. Still NOT showing the content of the flash file in Explorer 7

It loads the hight and width parameters but it stops there with just a white blank flash file in IE7 .

Bob you said “if the preview works, than it should work for everyone”

You file is embedded completely different on this page compared to the spasmotic and conflicting help file you supplied.

I have exhausted every option known to me and scoured the web. I did find the swfobject.js file you have used is out of date and I can not get it to work with the new version either.

End of the day the file, at this point does, not work as it should and to be blunt I am not a happy camper spending massive hours to try and implement this thing.

I do NOT consider the following to be supportive or remotely helpful: “A link?” “What I cool file I have! Works nice.”

It is a cool file and I would appreciate some clear direction as to what is causing this conflict.

Thanks

I have bought your tool.

How is it possible the function of the program mouseover so that an image description for each image to remove it can be raised when mouseover in Typo3 content appears? When pressed on the image, the image description on the content and the selected picture remains bright (no automatic image sequence).

@PaulV: Well, is out of date as I have uploaded the files on FlashDen months ago. Sure they get out of date, as we don’t update all files on a daily basis.

Also, the other customer seems to have found the issue with Javascript in minutes. Here’s his code and message:

Hi Andrei,

Thanks for getting back to me. I am indeed using the latest version.

I have done the following and it seems to have worked:

Thanks Jono.

I have included the html for you - please do include it on your site if you wish. The html has also been tweaked slightly for W3C rules.

<script type="text/javascript">
function cacheHack(){
return "?t=" +new Date().getTime();
}

            var so = new SWFObject("http://www.website.com/deploy/preview.swf?xmlPath=<a href="http://www.website.com/deploy/accordion.xml&amp;keepSelected=t&amp;selectedWindow=0&amp;imageWidth=420&amp;imageHeight=300&amp;sWidth=584&amp;sHeight=300"">http://www.website.com/deploy/accordion.xml&amp;keepSelected=t&amp;selectedWindow=0&amp;imageWidth=420&amp;imageHeight=300&amp;sWidth=584&amp;sHeight=300"</a> +cacheHack(), "sotester", "584", "300", "8", "#ffffff");
            so.addParam("allowFullScreen", "true");
                         so.addParam("wmode", "transparent");
            so.write("flashcontent");

        </script>

@fashionbiz: I don’t understand your question.

Posted about 10 hours ago

I try to explain:

User touches with the mouse a photo. With “onmouseover” be called javascript. This script show the text (description) from the xml file in the content on the website.

Example: http://www.haeberlinag.ch/de/portraet/team

how much would such an extension (.swf + javascript) of you?

Great file, but also experiencing the same problem as daveduke and PaulV on this one.

Plays fine in Firefox, but I get just a blank white screen on Internet Explorer 7.

Preview.swf only shows a black screen.

Read the other threads but did not see a definite fix or confirm that it worked? Please help?

Thanks.
