Advanced XML Image / Photo / Picture / SWF / Gallery Accordion

Features

  • Layout can be either horizontal or vertical
  • Control all styling options, line thickness, line colour, line alpha, fill colour, fill alpha
  • Control opening and closing events – either open on mouse click, or open on mouse rollover
  • Control opening/closing duration
  • Control timer, turn on/off, set if mouse event pauses timer, set duration (seconds based) and set position of timer – left or right
  • Content title and info text fields are HTML formatted
  • Content file path and URL path set through XML file
  • Apply a mask to any SWF that has content off stage, so it doesnt appear in the Accordion
  • Control width and height of the mask
  • Control URL window mode through xml – _blank, _self etc
  • Set content to be already open
  • Control info text field x and y position through XML file
  • Run javascript function on click of image, set through XML file
  • Also send a value through to javascript function from XML file
  • Control the SWF file through javascript functions – open images, close images, pause timer, start timer
  • Can pass XML file path to SWF file through FlashVars – this is optional
  • Drag and Drop movieclip to another project, instructions to change width and height in support pages. Also you need to include the folder “com” in the same folder as your project.

nixon – Yes it is possible to change the width of the file to 500px, open main.fla, open the actionscript movieclip, go to line 52 and 53. Find the variables sw and sh, and replace the stage.stageWidth / stage.stageHeight with the correct width / height you want.

If you are not including the accordion in another Flash project, then just open main.fla, and edit the stage properties through the properties tab.

Ok here is another size question – I want to create a decent sized banner (940×365 is my dimensions) I can get the stage to size up but when I change the stage.StageWidth etc… the once narrow navigation sizes up as well, is there a way to keep this from happening? Also in saying that how do I get my images to work at that size, when I tried to increase those the accordian stopped?

jestrada – The Accordion creates the size of each navigation based on the stage width / height and the content width / height. So there is no feature that will keep the navigation narrow.

If you are placing 940×365 content inside a 940×365 SWF file, the accordion wont work, as the content needs to be smaller in either width or height depending on layout. As I said above, the accordion creates the size of each navigation based on the stage width / height and the content width / height.

A quick way to reduce the size of each image is to apply a mask, through the xml file, content.xml, and set the width and height of that mask to a smaller dimension than the SWF file.

hi,

i have brought linly tell me my image sixe is 1000 * 467 and when i put same size image in swf it does not work i have tried reducing mask size using xml but it does not work and is this any way by where i can defive width of it

anand_jindal – Hi, yep I found the problem yesterday night, and worked on a fix, please send me an email through my profile page, and I will email the updated files, so you don’t have to wait for the files to be approved for download.

Just to clarify, the element that is varying, is the visible bit of the accordion pane that receives a click etc to open that particular accordion pane. It looks as though they don’t return or honor the spacing value between each accordion pane you have set up, or however it is that you are doing the spacing between each accordion pane.

As per your reply you told me that the flash can be resized my size is 1025*450 and i have to put 8 elements can you please send me the file . Whenever i try to resize by methods mention on your help document the shifting panes are not equal or dont function

Sorry all for the slow response.

anand_jindal – Replied to your emails.

rgwhouse – It shouldn’t take much work to get each image to go to a frame. At the moment I am busy with other projects. If you are happy to wait after the Christmas holidays for me to make the needed changes, then send me an email through my profile page, stating that this is fine.

noponies – I have tried to get a copy of safari 3.1.2, but cant, the latest version of safari is 3.2.1, but I cant see this being a problem. I can say that they do honor the return spacing when no image is open / selected.

Can anyone else confirm what noponies is saying, as if this is a issue then I would like to fix it.

Hi Skial,

I am having an issue when setting the layout to “h” for horizontal. I have made no changes to anything other than changing layout to “h”, and it doesn’t seem to be working. The content boxes don’t expand/contract at all. The text actually does seem to fade away though, but no open/close functionality. I set the collapse to “click”, but that didn’t seem to solve anything. Setting the layout back to “v” works just fine, but I need this to be “h” for the particular application I’m developing.

precision – Make sure that the content is smaller than the SWF file size. If you are changing the layout from “v” to “h” and using the same images that where used for layout “v”, then it wont work as the are the same dimension as the SWF file.

Have a look inside the folder “horizontal stack” located inside “deploy”. This shows a working example of layout “h”.
