You DO NOT need the Flash application to use this file.

Here’s an XML mp3 player made to look like a retro record player. This file is AS2 and comes with v8 and CS3 FLAs. It also comes with the PSD files if you want to create your own player look and the font files. The current player has 2 skins, 2 different records and you can control the skins, playlists, albums and most of the colors from the XML file.

FILE UPDATES : 10.28.08 By popular demand, there is now a setting to have the player auto-play the next album when finished with the last and you can assign different record art for each album. I’ve also added scrub functionality as well. Please re-download the player if you have purchased it.

Bugs Fixed: 10.3.08 Fixed 2 bugs. 1. Songs titles not switching properly. 2. Compilation album art not switching properly.

This file also comes with video tutorials – you can see an edited sample of one here : http://www.station-eight.com/flashden/rec_sample.mov

From the ‘Help’ file
XML PRT1 :
1. playerType should be ‘retro’ or ‘clean’ (all lowercase). If ‘retro’ the ‘retroBase’ and ‘recordRetro’ record will load and if ‘clean’ it loads the clean versions.
2. bgImage is the name of the background image you are using in the images folder – leave it as ”” if you don’t want an image to load. The image can be a .jpg or .png file. 3. gradientColor 1 & 2 will set a gradient background in the swf file – leave as ”” if you don’t want one. 4. gradientShape can be radial or linear.
5. skinColor will change the color of the album holder background and controls background.
6. skincolor2 will change the color of the controls text, loadbar, volume bar, ‘albums’/’songs’ text and scroll arrows color.
7. autoPlaySongs – ‘yes’ will start the music on load and when a new album is chosen
8. autoPlayNext – ‘yes’ will force the player to play the next song on the album (if there is one) – ‘no’ will have the player pause when each song is over. NOTE : This does not apply to the albums, the albums must be clicked to begin play.

XML PRT2 :
1. Each album can be either a regular playlist or a compilation playlist. If compilation, each song gets it’s own cover art, artist and album name. If regular those attributes can be left as ””
2. Keep the needle rotation value between 19 and 39.

—Please see the video tutorials for more info.
NOTES :
1. If you are having trouble with the file please email me at the address below. If you post your questions on the Flashden file board I may not see them right away and if you post them in the forum I will never see them.
2. If you want to edit the FLA you’ll need to have the The Fuse Kit which is free and can be downloaded here: http://www.mosessupposes.com/Fuse/

Best mp3 player on Flash Den. Professional job by Station Eight Design.

Fully commented AS throughout with a really terrific extra effort to provide several videos tutorials showing how to initialize the fla, skin the player and add songs.

The recently added update allows not only the songs in the albums to play sequentially but also the albums themselves to play sequentially.

All source material, including photoshop psds (for player and record skins), are part of this package.

First rate and 5 STARS from me.
