The Dynamic Image Reflection Kit allows you to completely customize your image reflections with one function no matter where your image lives.

Gangsters and ganstettes -
thx for the comments. Apologies if the file is not working in Flash 8, send me an email and I’ll mail you a Flash 8 version.
@Dasky – just sent you yours.
@zsolt – nope I’m not cool enough for classes, but great idea I will get on that and see about putting into a class.
@everyone – the preview above isn’t exactly what I had in mind as the proxy.php isn’t hooked up due to security issues. You can check out a preview with the proxy.php working properly at the url below. Paste any image URL into the textbox and it should work (with proxy checkbox checked).

Sorry to sound stupid but I don’t fully understand how to make the most use of this great file. If I want to add a reflection to an image how do I save the image once the reflection has been added.

@hgwsaustralia – The purpose of the image URL input box and sliders above are just to give you examples of what you can do with the actionscript. Ideally you would probably have some images in mind that you already want to use, so you would set them in the actionscript beforehand. And the same for the blur, height, and alpha, you would also set the those in the actionscript. I hope that helps or makes sense.

@kenndl – I haven’t specifically tried that but I don’t see why that wouldn’t work by putting it into a mask.

Hi!! I have 3 questions: 1) Even if I put your image reflection inside the lowest layer, the reflection image still covering the content of other layers in my project. How do I solve this?
2) How do I apply this effect to a movie clip Inside my project? What are the lines in ac that I have to change? The name of my movie clip is “botafogo”.
3) If I wan to apply it to more than one images inside my project, what I have to tell to the .as to understand that is to apply to both image and mc and they are they are diferent images?

Hi Guys – sorry for the late reply. As for reflecting movieclips, this is really intended for images. However, I will play around with it and see if there is an easy way to instruct you how to use movieclips instead.
@RDINIZTV – #1 – The reflection clip has a depth of 99. You will need to change the depth of your other movieclips or layers using swapDepths(100) (or greater).
Hope that helps!

Its fine to comment (I guess) when you don’t even have the source…
But folks, this is not Flash 8. Why should we email for it… when the whole point is getting it here?
I’ll look for an update here… but will otherwise request a credit refund.

Update:
I followed up on this with Envato Communities, and after some effort they finally got the author of this file to upload the correct version. Anyone who has purchased this file expecting it to open in Flash 8 can now go ahead download it again.
I can report at this point that it does now open in Flash 8.
