BAREBONES PRELOADER

HomeBrowse CategoriesFlashPreloadersPercentage BasedBarebones Preloader

This is a preloader with a simple and professional look that will fit any project. Many of the aspects can be easily customized, including the colors, the finished message, message display time, loading bar alpha, and auto-centering. You can also set the animation to skip if the movie is cached, and hide the percentage text.

The loading animation is drag-and-drop. Everything is 100% vector, so you can rotate and resize the movie clip however you want. The animation will even stop and start the main timeline by itself. Just drop it into the first frame and you are ready to go.

All of the options don’t weight down the size of your movie; the compiled animation is about 9kb, and includes directions on how to reduce the size even more.

There is an instructional PDF included, and the Actionscript is well commented.

I purchased the loader and am having problems getting it to work. I am using flashCS3 and have set the publish settings to flash8 and AS2 .0.

Can you give me some more insight on what I should be doing. Confessing I am a newbie.

Do you have anything, or know of anything, that will allow me to link amount of audio time played to a progression bar? I already have a countdown in place, but am stumped with getting a progression bar in place that shows the reverse of the countdown—incrementing display by amount of time played.

I see what you are saying, and it is possible to plug in a different kind of “progress” to the preloader. That is how the demo works.

However, the process would vary greatly depending on what kind of setup you are dealing with. I am available for freelance work, and can help you get things set up for a small fee. If you are interested, please click on my name and email me with the form at the bottom of my profile page.

At any rate, lets continue this discussion over email, since comments on this file would just fill up space.

Great progress bar! I was wondering it you could tell me if there’s any way to have this work in loading an external swf? Basically, I have a HD .mov file set up on a separate flash document that I am loading onto my main page through a loader component when clicking a button. Whew, a mouthful. I wasn’t sure how I should go about doing so…I know I should put it on the main page, not on the swf that’s being loaded, but I’m not sure how. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I apologize for the ramblings :).

Thank you for purchasing the file! Search for a function called setPercent in the Actionscript on frame 1. This function updates the progress of the loading bar. It takes two paramters: amountLoaded and amountTotal. Normally, it uses the progress of the movie that has been loaded. However, you can replace the two numbers with anything you want. So you can target the progress of the child movie clip, or the progress of the FLV , ect.

If you would like some help implementing the new loading bar, click on my name and email me using the form at the bottom of my profile page.
