Features from Compact News Viewer v1.0

It is updated by editing an XML file. It’s very easy! Add as many news items as you like!

The full news articles can contain HTML text. CSS styles for links (with hover!) are already set up for you in the flash file.

You can add unlimited news items with automatic scrolling on mouse over. If the full news items are long scroll arrows appear so you can scroll down and view the whole article.

Since the full news articles are HTML , they can contain images and swfs as well as other HTML formatting such as lists, bold, underline, etc.

great file but how can I change the color of the “blocks” of news? u know the black blocks? I want them to be #39527B so they blend in the BG thanks

Musher , I am portuguese and had the same problem with another file , you need to go to the text box inside your .fla and on the embed button insert the characters you need, manually…

Ok i checked and thought it was made by the xml but its just the background of the flash theres only a little shadow that I cant remove… And I dont know if I remove the whloe “box” instance maybe it wont work… how can I remove the shadow? thanks

Musher, if you read the previous comments you would see what you need to do is just open the xml file in notepad and save it with encoding set to “unicode”.

Rocketo, you will have to just make the box transparent rather than removing it. You can get rid of the shadow by selecting the box and deleting the shaddow in the “filters” panel.

Paul, Sorry I don’t have a version with black text on a light background. I believe I have given instructions on how to change the background colour and font colours in the comments on this page. (If you can’t find them here also check the comments on my Compact Image Viewer, as they are very similar).

Is it possible to have the items auto scroll on its own without the mouse interaction? Additionally, can you make it do a continual scroll down (repeat) instead of scrolling back up?

I just bought this last night from some other affiliate site… but I think I was re-routed here.

Anyway, great little app!

Seems to be mostly AS2 .0 for those looking to buy and wondering.

All the basics are ‘customizable’.. font, size, color, size of actual reader on the page etc.

You can dig around in the fla and make changes as you see fit.

Thanks again for all your help with my custom projects, quick question: Can the .js file be modified to force the browers to refresh their cache? I’ve noticed that the new xml data won’t load unless I clean my temp folder or my pc restarts, etc… some of my visitors have been mentioning the issue, thanks…

is there any way for this to work like this:

Once I clicked to see a news, the arrows at the bottom (to scroll the complete text) disappear so I’m not able to read the text completely and for some news they don’t. Do you know why?
