Could we have 2, 3 ( or more ) levels or just one like in the demo ?

Posted about 1 year ago

comactiv

I don’t know what do you mean by levels. But I would try to answer.

You can add as many item in the submenu for each main menu item as you like. For example in the demo for about main menu item there are three items: history, vision, and mission

you can add for example two more along with them.

Hey Wes,

I think what comactiv is trying to ask is whether or not you can have more submenus, i.e. under “History” if there could be sub-items, a 3 or even 4 tiered navigation.

Thank You gdpgiga.

No There is no support for more sub-menus, but of course the number of items in a sub-menu can be as much as the user likes to have.

hi wes – i purchased your file and am very happy with it / what i would like to know is if i could add a, x and y position reference to the XML to control the location of each menu. instead of having them pile on top of each other.

could you email me to continue this conversation as i would like to show you a link of what i’m trying to accomplish.

many thanks in advance joshgriffey@googlemail.com

Hi joshgriffey,

I would like to see what you are trying to do but as you are asking for a feature which is not part of this xml menu so to implement that you might have to pay an extra fee or if your idea is cool than I can make another version and will upload here so that you can get it.

What’s the best way to create a link for a main menu. For example, say “ABOUT” doesn’t have “submenu” items and I want it to link “ABOUT” like the “submenu”.

Thanks

untitled leave your email address and I will send you the update source file with that feature.

hi

Posted about 1 year ago

Hi there

Can the default menu item be set to something other than the first item that is open? Of course i could change the name of the first menu item, but can it be set to say the 3rd menu item that is shown as open when the navigation loads?

cheers samoir

@samoir

Yes! that can be done very easily. If you buy the file and want that let me know and I will tell you. It is just a matter of replacing 0 with your desired menu item number.

Thanks. Im building an HTML website template, CSS , PHP etc and wanting to use the navigation menu as a Flash component, to be part of a this website, rather than using it as part of an full Flash website.

In this HTML scenario, is there any way to keep the subcategory menu open as the pages changes change, showing the current category you are in. I guess i could code something from PHP /admin area which tells the XML for each section which category should remain open for each of the sections.

(what im trying to achieve is, that if you are in the About section of your example above, and you click any one of the subpages, History, Vision, Mission, then that section would remain open when using the Flash menu in a component scenarion for the all of the pages in this category).

Regards

Samoir

@samoir

I know what you are talking about. If you know flash a little then you will pass a flashvars variable from the html/php page to the flash and based on that variables value you can keep the desired sub-menu open.

Otherwise, I can do that for a fee for customizing it for you. You can contact me: http://flashden.net/user/SaafiDesign
