Easy Showcase Component

This is an easy to use, compiled component for showcasing images and HTML /CSS text. It is very versatile, with many option, see the features below.

Features:

  • Shows either a single image, or a rotating sequence of images on the left. Optionally they can be clicked to go to a link. All XML driven, incuding the images, whether they scale to fit, and the interval for rotating through them.

  • The images load in order, so that they display quickly, and use special algorithms so that if the next one is not done when the timer says to switch, it will immediately switch when it is done, and then start the timer again, so that the images will always play smoothly no matter the connection speed.

  • All text is HTML capable, allowing links, images, lists, etc. All text is also subject to a CSS file.

  • It is a compiled component, allowing you to simply drag and drop it on stage and then resize it as you want it. It also holds parameters allowing you to edit how much of the component is image and how much is text.

  • For developers, the code that uses the external files is optional, and you can simply not use it, and use 5 main properties to manipulate the component with your own CSS /HTML Strings, etc. The help files include information of how to do this.

  • You can use multiple instances in your files using different files and data, for a showcase page, etc.

  • For HTML programmers, it would be easy to edit the .fla to have it show at an exact size and then use this in your HTML pages.

@kabdulgh – the colors of what? The colors of the text is HTML and CSS , so you can edit that way. The images are images of course, so change them to whatever you want, and the background behind the component is a simple vector square in the flash that can be edited without having to recompile the component or anything like that.
