DYNAMIC PHOTO GALLERY

This dynamic flash photo gallery allows to make a gallery without doing anything to the .fla file and without dealing with external data files, you just have to put the pictures that you want under the PICTURES folder on your web site, the .php file here reads the content of the folder and fill the swf with the data necessary to show your pictures, the title field above each displayed picture is filled with the name of it

you can add as much pictures as you want

A folder named ” pictures ” must be created on the same location of the swf file

To update the gallery you just have to put or delete the files stored on the PICTURES folder

All the pictures can have different dimensions, the loader will automatically resize to that size.

Any underscore ( _ ) in the name of the picture will be replaced with an space ( ); so i f your picture name is “picture_number_one.jpg” the title will display “Picture number one”

For the Thumbnails another folder inside the PICTURES folder must be created, and it must be named ” th ”, in this folder you put the thumbnails for each picture, the thumbnail has to be 20 px * 20 px, and it has to be named exactly as the full size picture.

The picture to be displayed can be any size, but it’s recommendable to use pictures with a height under 450 px and width under 740 pix, any size larger than this will be reduced to fit the size of the file and therefore it will lose it’s quality.

This gallery works better with a 1024×768 resolution

The swfobject.js file is necessary for the gallery.htm page, and gets rid of the border around .swf files

Finally got it to work. Another question and need a quick response please.

How can I get the swf to find several different xml files to load different categories in a first position?

In other words, we want to use:

One directory for all the slides. One directory for all the thumbs.

Many sldes.xml files so that we can load the categories in first positions at different times.

Example: User clicks on Category One link on a web page and the player loads Category One first. User clicks on Category Two link on a web page and the player loads Category Two first. User clicks on Category Three link on a web page and the player loads Category Three first.

How do I change the published settings to output different sldes.xml files?

Hi Sparias,

Just want to start by saying this is a great gallery you have created!!!

However I’m having the same problem many others are having with the thumbnails. I believe you have already fixed this according to the comments you posted. I’m assuming all I have to do is download the file again, and that will be the updated version. Is this correct?

Also how do I reposition the thumbnails and the arrows?

If you could help me out as soon as you can I would really appreciate it.

I need to be able to increase the size of the Thumbnails to 40 or 60 px. What is the procedure for doing that? Can I just make the image larger or do I need to make changes to the flash document? I also need to know how to change the font color.

TO EVERYONE WHOSE THUMBNAILS ARE NOT WORKING !

Instead of using the EXACT filename for the thumbnails you will have to add a “_th” to the end of the file name.

Ex: pictures/Largephoto.jpg

“th” folder Inside the pictures folder: Largephoto_th.jpg
