DYNAMIC PHOTO GALLERY

TIP : THIS GALLERY IS NOT MADE TO BE LOADED INSIDE ANOTHER MOVIE

This dynamic flash photo gallery allows to build a gallery without doing anything to the .fla file and without dealing with external data files, you just have to put the pictures that you want under the PICTURES folder on your web site, the php file here reads the content of the folder and fill the swf with the data necessary to show your pictures, the title field above each displayed picture is filled with the name of it.

  • you can add as much pictures as you want
  • A folder named ” pictures ” must be created on the same location of the swf file
  • To update the gallery you just have to put or delete the files stored on the PICTURES folder
  • All the pictures can have different dimensions, the loader will automatically resize them.
  • Any underscore ( _ ) in the name of the picture will be replaced with a space ( ); so if your picture name is “picture_number_one.jpg” the title will display “Picture number one”
  • The picture to be displayed can be any size, but I recommend to use pictures with a height under 450 px and width under 740 pix, any size larger than this will be reduced to fit the size of the file and therefore it will lose it’s quality.
  • This gallery works better with a 1024×768 resolution
  • The swfobject.js file is necessary for the gallery.htm page, and gets rid of the border around .swf files
VERY IMPORTANT **

THIS GALLERY ONLY WORKS IF YOU HAVE PHP ENABLED ON YOUR SERVER

It took a while, and a lot of customization, but I did get it to work. Thanks.

Hi sparias,

great job. I love the easy handling of it. Its cool for customers which have no idea of html and php.

QUESTION : Is it possible to show the pictures larger? I mean the size is reduced to 740×450. Is ist possible to make them bigger e.g. 800×600?

I would love it!!!

hi pipestick, yes, there’s a way to show the pictures larger, there’s a layer named CONFIG , click the frame on that layer, and bring up the actions panel, there’s a function called _global.config inside that fucntio, you can modify the values, if you know how to do it, if not send me a message and i can do it for you for a small fee

I’m adept at PHP but not flash. Can this be handle multiple photo directories? I don’t need the directory listing functionality of your other script; I just would like to have photos in multiple directories and then pass the directory path to the Flash applet. Cool scripts.
