This is a fully customziable mp3 music player, loads in songs through an external xml file.

All ActionScript is self-contained in one movie clip, so you can just copy and paste the MovieClip into any FLA .

One small bug that I found yesterday (sorry, I tested it a lot before upload, just missed this one thing):

When the song goes to the next track, either by reaching the end of the song, or by the next/prev track buttons, the volume goes back to 100, despite where the marker on the volume scrubber is.

I have fixed this bug, however the file is not yet replaced on FlashDen (I have sent them the file and am waiting back for a response).

So for anybody who purchased this and wants the updated file, just leave a comment here (so I can see that you purchased it), along with your email address and I will send you the updated file.

When the file is replaced on FlashDen, I will post another comment letting everybody know.

Hey Paul,

I can’t contact you personally, since the contact form is not on your profile page. However, if you purchase the file now, I can email you the updated file.

Or you can just wait until the new one is uploaded—you can also download your purchases at any time, therefore, you can download the file again once the updated one is placed on the server.

Hello gdphiha, I did purchase the mp3 player and it works great. I was wondering how difficult it would be to add the option of playing songs at random instead of in the same order. Do you have code for that?

How hard would it be to nest this in another movie. For example I would like to put it either in a mc on the stage or put the swf in a mc on stage and have it slide in and out of my movie when needed. Any extra coding needed?

Not at all—it is entirely self contained inside one movie clip, you can easily add it to any FLA you want. Just copy and paste the movie clip into another FLA and you’re good to go.

normally I would make all my own files, but I had a really tight deadline and this file works really well. The code is good and very well organised, really nice work. thanks :-)

Is it possible to make this so that it just uses a FlashVars command for the MP3 file? I just need it to play one MP3 file and it cannot use an XML file—I know that sounds weird, but it is a requirement.

The sample version does not loop back to start when it reaches the final song.

i see these comments are a few months old, has the update been done/ is there a different version to download – or is there a fix i need to do?

How can I make it so the mp3 only loads when play is pressed? I have it starting out on pause, but it still loads the mp3 before you hit play.

Would help save on bandwith if it didn’t try to load.

Hey I’ve purchased this mp3 Player and have found it extremely helpful and very customizable. One thing though: I’d like the Song Position Scrubber to have a variable width, as opposed to a variable _x position. How would I go about to apply such modifications in actionscript?
