Made a transition a bit inspired by how the space ships in movies like Firefly come out of hyperspace. I made a demo here to show the file like it is and a demo on how to use it. I made the whole transparent and used Quicktime animation.

Thanks. The small demo file don’t do it full justice!! There is a lof of details that really looks good in HD.

The demo file showing here is about 800KB as a Quicktime and include the transition twice and the mask source file. I don’t know mow much it became in .flv.

Hi
I got a email with a very valid question. So I include my answer here. (Please keep sending questions on email as its hard to keep track of everything here.)
Alpha channel and creating a transition.
The question was how to make the transition in the demo above.
The file contain a alpha (transparent) channel. That mean its already a mask in the file. When you export to a .flv file just press that you like to “Encode the alpha channel” and use the: On2 VP6 codec.
If you import the .mov file into After effects choose “Straight Unmatted” and it will show the alpha channel.
The codec used to keep the alpha channel when I rendered out the .mov file is Quicktime Animation.
