This is a simple thumbnails scroller that you can use in your website for news, images, products, menus, etc. It is very easy to use, all properties can be changed from the *.xml file.

Main features :

  • unlimited number of thumbnails
  • cool burn/zoom roll over effect
  • text for every thumbnail
  • different links for every thumbnails
What can you change from the XML file
  1. the width of the scroller
  2. the width of one thumbnail
  3. the height of one thumbnail
  4. the margin between the thumbnails
  5. the size of the border
  6. turn on/off the reflection
  7. color of one thumbnail’s border
  8. color of one thumbnail’s border on roll over
  9. color of one thumbnail’s text
  10. color of one thumbnail’s text on roll over
  11. target(“_blank”,”_self”, etc) of one thumbnail’s link
You can also change the background when you embed the file, or use it with a transparent background in html or flash.

Yes the thumbnails are locked..you specify the size of a thumbnail in the *.xml file, and all thumbnails(no matter size) will be masked

Well the scrolling speed depends on the number of thumbnails, but you can also slow it down by increasing the time of the easing. Maybe change the easing type too.. So open the .fla file, open the scroller movieclip, and in the actions layer at line 122 you have the line that scrolls the movieclip.
Tweener.addTween(mcHolder,{_x:-Math.round(scroller._xmousemcHolder._width/mcMask._width)+20, time:1, transition:”easeOutExpo”});
Just replace time:1 with a bigger value maybe time:5.. Anyway play with these values until you get what you want. If you want to change the transition type too, see THIS ”>http://hosted.zeh.com.br/tweener/docs/en-us/misc/transitions.html”>THIS LIST to know what transitions are available with the Tweener engine.

I have a small problemm I don’t know how to resize it … need it 600×125 pixels but text “cuts-off” can you resize it for me ?

I want white background but than i get some strange borders around thumbs even if i disable them in xml file …

How do I make the scroller wider… so it scrolls across my entire page.

Is that a matter of just having more photos added or something else… when I widen the setting it no longer centers and shows large black area.

also can it be made to scroll left or right in a continuous loop

Hi, I like the scroller. It just seems to take a margin of 150 px or so on the left. See http://www.flimpie.nl/index2.php to see what i mean.

Can you explain this?

Thank you for your help on slowing down the scroll, worked perfectly … I will also rate your tool, love it.

One other question, where could I change the font? My client does show in France and some of her descriptions require accents which do not seem to translate … I thought if I changed the font it might work.

For example:

Paris Prêt-à-Porter Week February 2008

is showing in the description as:

Paris Prt—Porter Week February 2008
