The new “Image panning” component has support for either image files (png, jpg, gif) or swf files. It can load images/movieclips from an external url or directly from the Library. It comes with a well written documentation, it is more flexible, the code was totally rewritten.
Enjoy !

Good stuff Adrian – thanks for taking everyone’s feedback and greatly improving the functionality in this version, and very promptly I might add!

Is it possible to have the image/movie/etc…tween back to its “start position” after you have rolled away from the active area?
That way you can sort of “tour” the image…but when your not hovering over it…it always looks consistantly positioned?
Thanks and great work!

I got both versions working locally but when i put it online the scrolling image doesn’t load. what do i need in the FTP folder that contains the .swf to make it run properly?

Correction, it runs properly as just an .swf, when inside another .swf it wont load. (other .swf’s load fine, just not this one)

Hi,
This looks great. Ok, here comes the stupid question considering this is the FlashDen.
Will this work for me if i have no way of creating a SWF . I do not have adobe -Flash CS3 .
I have a large jpg that i would like to clip and be able to mouse pan through it. Will this be possible?
Thanks

Is it possible to have the image “fly in” from one side after loading and then stop at the default positioning (L,C,R)—with easing?
