Full_screen_preview
A simple, slick & professional looking XML based slideshow site.

Features:

  • Easy to navigate, just roll your mouse wheel to go to next or previous image! it loops too!
  • images are Scaled to fit screen, no distortions!
  • one click to fullScreen mode!
  • add in as many images as you wish, the buttons will scroll automatically, resize the browser and see the difference!
  • set auto start/countdown duration, slide speed, choose to scale images to fit browser or not all in XML itself! (if its not set to scale, image will position itself in the center with original size).
  • no blank screen while waiting for the next image to load.
  • main movie preloader & image preloaders are included too.

Other information like About, phone number etc can be easily edited in the fla.

the example you see is a Flash CS3 version but i have also INCLUDED a Flash 8 version without the fullScreen function & the related button taken out ;)

PLS NOTE : this only shows images as it is using bitmapData to re-capture the images, so if you try to load a swf it will only show the 1st frame.
cheers!

Hi enctyptme. I’ve emailed you a couple of times on this, perhaps you haven’t received them…

When you resize the browser, the images don’t fit properly in the browser and you can see the background top and bottom unless you resize the browser again, then it fills the browser.

Can you please fix this?

Also the updated code to smooth the images hasn’t been added to the flash 8 file. If I try and add it, the site freezes.

Please advise.

@peejay
can you email me your all files so i can see what is causing you the prob.

I fixed it. It had to do with the margins in the html file

Thank you. Great job.

Hi Encyptme, you can see it on the preview file.

Make the browser more square than the image and it loads the image to fit inside that square. You see the whole image smaller rather than the full size cropped one. It leaves the grey background top and bottom. But then if you if you re-adjust the browser to any shape or size it snaps into it’s full size.

Enctyptme, have you found a solution to the bugs? As said, if I make the adjustments attique said to the new Flash8 File it freezes the swf. So the images are jagged and they aren’t loading full screen.

The effect peejay describes ( and heredownunder at the comments under the First version of this gallery) seems to be related to the ratio between with and heigth of the images and the browserwindow. The AS defines 1000 to 600 as I understand (ratio 1.6). If I define my browserwindow to the same ratio, everything is ok. You can make your window also wider. No problem. The ratio than raises to maybe 2.0. But if I make the window more like 4:3, the ratio falls to 1.3 and the effect occures. I hope that helps do identify the problem and that this was not too complicated explained in my bad english.

Maybe it helps if the pics were in a 4:3 ratio instead of 16:9 as mine are. I will check this.

I have ethe effect on different systems, different Displays, different browsers.

When will this be fixed encryptme? That and the image smoothing on the flash8 file. I’ve been asking you about it for months. Can I please have a response some time soon?

ryback
yes the default browser size for this is 1000×600, so if your browser is smaller than this, and at a later time one resize the browser you will get not resize issue. So what you can do is see the section where the onResize function is. In there you can change all 1000 & 600 values in the if statements to something lower.

peejay
did you just directly copy and paste the script attique gave and publish the movie ? then you get an error and the flash freezes ? if yes, notice “auto” is not in blue you need to retype it as “auto”.. again, notice the difference of two double quotes. If this is not the case, please email me your files.

my apologies for the delayed response.

Is there a way to make the scaleImageToFit=”true” make either the height and width of the image fit – depending on wheter the image is landscape or portrait in orientation?

Most of the images in my gallery are landscape (wide); however, a few of them are portrait (tall). The tall ones are fitting full to the page (from left to right); however, the top and bottom of the image are getting cut off.

Please advise on how to adjust this to fit vertical images. I don’t mind if their is blank space on the left and right side of the image.

~ thanks

i love the slideshow, i got v2. one little problem, tho: the menus. i have created movies to include (within the setup.xml) as menus and have achieved partial success.

2 movies work as expected, while another 2 will not load.

of the problematic ones: one is a map, the other is another (smaller) slideshow.

there is nothing unusual i could find within these 2 files, no references to the wrong timeline _levels. but they simply don’t load. they flicker – quickly, every 1/4 second before the movie has loaded. also – the 2 movies load perfectly when called on their own (outside of the slideshow / menu).

any ideas?

i’ve been scratching my head on this one for days now…
