A stylish way of presenting your news!

Add as many news items as you like via an easy to edit XML file.

When you rollOver an item it is circled in blue pencil and you can click to open a link in a new window. Each news item has it’s own unique url which you specify in the XML file.

You can also edit the title “NEWS” in the xml file if you need to.

You can use the scrollbar on the right to scroll through the content. It only appears when the content doesn’t fit on the paper.

cgdezign, it’s only meant to show 3 lines. It’s just a short intro then when you click it can take you to the full article if you like.

Probably a dumb questions but I was just wondering if it is re-sizable through the xml. I was gonna use this on a side column of a design I am working on for a quick news snapshot. I would like to know if I can possibly just have it show two items instead of three and increase the font side a bit.

voxana, you cannot resize it via xml, you would need to manually adjust it in the flash file. You can adjust the mask so it will show a smaller area eg 2 items at a time.

Hey thanks for the response! I don’t think I will have any problems resizing it in flash but I guess my main concern was to increase the font size a bit using the default mask area. My thinking was if I increase the font size that I may only be able to fit two news items in that area. I think I will just get your file and see if I can tweak that if it gets intense I will just go with the stock look. Afterall what you created looks great!

Hi arkany, this product has only been designed to show 3 lines per item. He would need to edit the .fla file if he wants it to display more.

Great download, but can someone advise on getting this to load a swf on another level eg 10, rather than load an external url, as you can imagine a flash based site wouldn’t want to have to load external urls to view each page.

Im sure its just a tweek of the code in flash and xml but im unsure whats what, see below, im sure more of the coding needs changing but this is the area of Actionscript that tells the XML to load an external url.

How simple is it to change it to load an swf on level 10 ??

Please Please Please help!!!!!!!!!!

Does every news ‘entry’ have to have a link? I’ve got a bit of news, but no page to link to. How can I use this without a link?
