NG Scroller 2 is a flash component that every developer or designer should have in his “toolbox”. With over 20 configurable parameters you can have an application with an unique look and feel in just a few minutes. No actionscript skills are required as you can customize it by editing an xml file or using the included scroller builder, a “what you see is what you get” generator, without no need to open any source file. The supported media files that you can load in this application are: jpeg, gif, png and swf. The user can easily navigate through the items using the navigation buttons or the mouse scroll wheel . The package contains all the source files, external classes, fonts, scroller.swf, scrollerBuilder.swf , xml file.

Very nice file.

I’ve got one issue. In the example I see the same thing happening. If a make the total width “650”, only the first two items are nicely centered. After scrolling there’s an offset at the left. How could I solve this? Can I solve this by hard coding the margin somewhere?

@apollo009 Select the back movieclip, then go to filters tab and remove the glow, if you have difficulties send us an email.

quick question before I purchase it, can I set the number of items to display initially dynamically? I will use this on a full screen flash website and is there a way for me to modify the code when if I expand the screen I’ll be able to view more thumbnails at the same time.

Also, when I click on each image I want it to perform a function not go to a link is this possible as well?

ok I figured it out, but I am coming across a few issues I don’t know if these are bugs or not.

want to place this in a full screen flash website I set the width to be Stage.width but it messes up the spacing sometimes

also, I don’t want the spacing to be in the center but I want it to space out the images from left to right with the proper dynamic spacing.

is this at all possible?

Is there a way to call a function and re-render a new XML file?

so lets say if it pulled up scroller.xml and I call a function such as

reRender(scroller2.xml) and just re renders the new xml out?

OR I tried duplicating the movie clip but if I click on to the second movie clip while the first one is still looping, it gives an error

NG, when i try to put the item WIDTH higher than 400, the application crashes.

I have items of 575 width and 355 of height, and i don’t know what to do. Can u help?

This is absolutely great and a definate must for every designers toolbox as you say. You have some brilliant works Nogrids. I also like your portfolio viewer. Your going to make me spend all of my money :)

@alejandrodas Did you try to change the width of the scroller? maybe your image’s width is bigger then scroller’s width. If you still have problems send us an email with your files.

Hello nogrids,

first I want to say thank you for that great Scroller!

I already tried serveral hours to get the code work in fullscreen, now it works, but if you resize the window the items didn’t get sorted in the right way, i mean the spaces between remain.

Could you help me out with that prob? I already sent you an email a day ago.

Hi @NoGrids!

I have the same problem as LifLaf.

When I change the total width, only the first two items are centered. After scrolling there’s an offset . How can I solve this, by hardcoding?

I’d like to have at least 3-4 items centered at any given time.

Hi nogrids,

I have another problem. I am using .swfs with actions/buttons in the .swf. .Swf buttons do not appear to work when they are in the scroller….is this a known bug, or do I need to alter the scroller code to make it work?

Please let me know…I tried emailing you as well, but have not received a response yet.
