Update:
Added the ability to make states or provinces inactive. There are no states or provinces inactive on the preview. When inactive, states will appear tanish gray (like Mexico) but the color can be changed in flash easily.
Map of North America containing all of the states and provinces from the United States and Canada. This was programmed using actionscript 3. All text is in one XML document for convenient an easy editing. Use html tags within the XML to format the text and add hyperlinks.
Change colors and sizes of the elements by editing the movie clips within the library.

Nice! Question:
Let’s say I am using this for business locations all over the USA . If i don’t fill in a certain state because it doesn’t have any locations there, will that state become inactive?
If not, i would like to request that option in a future update. Because if I had a business in 6 out of 50 states, it is currently very hard to know which states have a business. If I only filled out the 6 states in the xml and the rest were inactive or some other type of indication, it would be much more usable for visitors. (or I’m sure you could do this as custom work as well)
Just a suggestion. Great work.

Like everyone else I think this is great but would love a world map. Would it be possible to have one which first highlights continents and clicking on that drills down to the next level so you can then select countries/states and ideally counties. Also the feature of highlighting those areas which have organisational links would be great.

Yeap… Don’t take it personal, but Mexico is North America… Well perhaps you didn’t know but in case you are planning to include it in any of your maps, I must warn you that there are States in there too.. 32 States and 1 Federal District. Just like DC for you.
With 25 million internet users, chances are you will have quite a bit of Mexican developers buy that map.. If you do so, you can count on at least one sale here.. By the way… Great map
Hey, just one other suggestion that I didn’t see listed on here. You may want to consider flipping the roll-over info panel when the user rolls over territories that are to far “east” (i.e. PEI , Maine, Newfoundland, etc) as the panel’s getting caught off.
Just a thought.

Hello,
Can I request a custom version of this to be created for my company?
We would like the colors changed and the hover effect only to work on available provinces/states.
Please let me know if this is possible, thank you.

Yes, this is a useful and well constructed file. Thank you.
Friendly suggestion: it would be helpful if the instructions, or perhaps also the product description, included the name of the projection of the map from which the vector graphics were derived. I’m trying to overlay census geometry (WGS83) and need to re-project it to match yours. I’m guessing at this point it is an equidistant conic of some variety?

By the way, did you move Hawaii in order to accommodate the info window?
