One Keyframe Preloader

This is an easy one keyframe preloader.
Simply put the movieclip in the first keyframe of any of your projects and it will preload it for you.
You can easily manipulate the file by putting any animation inside the preloader_mc and the animation will only end when you movie is loaded. The preloader simply displays any animation inside its movieclip so you can add many more stuff to it & it will still be a preloader.
Very Useful.

I purchased this but it doesn’t seem to do anything when placed in the first keyframe. Nothing happens. I tried 5 keyframes and the animation plays but doesn’t actually preload the movie, it just stops after the animation finishes (there is a stop command in the preloader MC).

What am I doing wrong? Using Flash 8 w/ AS2 . I thought I could just drop it in the first keyframe of the movie but it’s not preloading.

MYOB , Hi. You’re obviously doing something wrong & it’s hard to tell what. All you do mate is put the mc in the first frame and anything inside the preloader movieclip will be the preloader. Did you try using the “simulate download” option in flash?? Send me your file if you like & i’ll look at it.. i’m sure it’s no big issue

Not sure i understand your question mate. Preloaders preload a flash file, if the file is already stored in the user’s cache (from the web) then preloader dissapears very quickly. It deosn’t repeat itself exactly as the first time a user checks youe site… unless they clear their cache of course

yes i understand that, but what i need is how to embed the preload itself to my already created movie clip. That’s all i need. I know there is a code (gotoAndPlay) but i don’t know how make use of it because i’m a little new to flash. Sorry for bothering you though.
