Page Resizing

To adjust page size you will have to adjust a few movie clips. All can be found in your library. Here are some tips on what to do.

1. “Spread Background” mc. Change the graphic inside this clip to the new page size

2. “Spread Size” mc. Change the graphic inside this clip to the new page spread size (2 pages side by side)

3. Inside “Spread” mc move the “Page Corner” mc’s to the edge of the page spread.

4. Also Inside “Spread” mc, you will see a layer labeled “Spreads”. On that layer is a mc called “Magazine Spreads”. Position that mc’s x co-ordinate exactly half the width of “Spread Size” mc. The y coordinate should be 0.

5. And finally you will need to adjust the following movieclips to match your new pages height, “glow”, “glow mask”, “shadow” and “shadow mask”

Very nice.

Hyperlink Table of Contents would be awesome! So that when you click an item in the Table of Contents it flicks through the pages quickly/automatically to the selected page. It would also need a “Return to Contents” link so you can quickly go back to the start.

I will also buy when it uses an XML file.

Hope you consider coding a new version with these things.

I’d pay more for it…

I am really enjoying learning with your template, however I have run into a bit of a snag. My Page size is 27.5 cm in height, when the page flip occurs the bottom 3/4 of the page flips perfectly, but the top 1/4 becomes a transparancy. Once the page flip is complete, the missing 1/4 of page pops into place…so the flipping looks rather odd.

I changed the “spread background” to 10.5 cm x 27.5 cm “spread size” to 21 cm x 27.5 cm In “spread” I moved the corners to the corners and moved the “magazine spread” to 10.5 cm.

Did I miss a step somewhere?

Hi Rob,

Firstly, big congrats on the your magazine flash series – great stuff! Just what I’ve been looking for.

The last time I’ve used Flash was when v4 just came out hah, but I’ve been able to edit pretty much everything in the download after installing v8 for the first time. One thing that I want to ask though…

When editing the template to make the pages larger; is there a quick and non-destructive way to do this so all the design elements resize along with the actual pages? Or would I have to manually edit every single element in the template to fit the new page dimensions?

Five star rating from me. If you could help out with the above it would save me a lot of time ^_

q: why does the php send_mail.php file have to be in the root folder on the server? I’m guessing that’s just the way it’s setup. Is there a way to make it so the .php script works from a subfolder? yourwebsite.com/subfolder
