This is a simple tell a friend form that can be used in a situation the user want to send the site URL to a friend.

All customizations can be made within the Flash IDE , for example:

  • The textfields borders and backgrounds colors
  • The textfields focus borders and focus backgrounds colors
  • Enable or not the borders and backgrounds
  • Enable or not the focus borders and focus backgrounds
  • Configure the script URL

This file include the .fla and a base PHP script that sends the e-mail to your friend.

The form available here is functional, try it.

UPDATES
  • 08-01-2008: Now the php script are able to check the sender and friend’s e-mail address (and only send the e-mail of both have valid domains).

FlashDEN doesnt support server side scripts such as PHP , so you should consider hosting it and add the link to the description.

Hi folks.

The flashden reviewer did not published the Main.swf file (as one can see using any http traffic monitor tool). A 404 error is get.

I sent a message to reviewer. Please FD, check it for me!

Mott, I do know FD do not support server-side script files. So, this preview is calling a script on my server ;).

Please, check this file soon. Maybe the reviewer would have updated it.

It is done, but I found a BUG . Actually its a secutiry sendbox violation (by calling a remote server). This one it is easy to solve.

I will do it when arrive home. (I will post here again when its ok).

Nice job! can i customize the form so that it will send a URL that input dynamically into it? (it would be different for each time used so i with an xml file i would dynamically indicate what URL to send—perhaps via a dynamic text box?).

Also, can it be customized to send to multiple users?

angie373: about the URL , you can do it if you add some actionscript in the file. I mean, this file (today) has no support to what are you wanting. About the multiple users, I see it is a good suggestion but again you should add some actionscript in the file (see the logic of fields validation/show and hide the send button and copy/paste) and also modify the php file. So, if you are not familiar with PHP /AS3 I do not think this is a trivial task. But I liked your idea.

You guys should test the new functionality (domain validation).

I have changed all the information in the php script and I receive no errors. For some reason I do not receive an email, even after it says email sent. The script is used at pierre08.com. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated since the campaign starts on Monday Sept. 22. Thank you.

Hi Howler96,

I visited your website and it worked fine for me (I tested with my gmail account).

If you are still not receiving the e-mail, maybe can be a problem on your smtp server on delivering the message to the specific host (or maybe the host is configured to not accept messages from your server).
