After some time appears a orange line UNDER the “sound off” label, what means?
Sound toggle controller and waveform equalizer:
This is a sound on/off toggle controller with sound waveform equalizer. This is very easy to use, as the product has been converted to component. The user doesn’t have to touch the action script as all the editable parameters have been brought outside for the user’s manipulation.
The user can change all the parameters like:
• Color of the waveform bars
• Number of bars to display
• Distance between the bars
• Width of the bars
• Text to display while the sound is on
• Text to display while the sound is off
Usage of this component: This component can be used as a sound on/off toggle button in websites, CD presentations or any place which requires a sound on/off toggle property.
Just replace the sound in the library with your sound file.
This component triggers two functions one for the sound on & other for the off.

After some time appears a orange line UNDER the “sound off” label, what means?
Nice component. Very simple to use, and customize. You can even set the bars to zero so they don’t appear. Only question I have is the same as Eustaice’s (what’s with the vertical bar that appears beneath the the component when it plays? Would be nice to be able to specify the text color too.

Well I had to put a mask over it to hide the vertical bar. It was so annoying. But with the mask over it doesn’t show the type. So I just added my own with acts as a button.

is there a way to stop and start the animation and the sound via scripting (without pushing the button)?

there are two functions called in the frame soundoff() & soundon(), call the soundoff() function when you dont want the sound & when u need it again call the othe function.

Hi, there. When I bring the component into my Flash file, the speed of the animation increases tremendously. Is there any way to overcome this? Thanks!

Hi,
Can you help a newbie actionscripter?
I’d like to have the sound off initially, giving the user the ability to play the sound if they require?
I see you mentioned the sound off and sound on functions, I just can’t work out what to change, if you could be a little more specific in what i need to change in the actionscript, that would be much appreciated.
thanks Kris

@freewheelin: Mailed you the file as attachment, that supports sound off initially as you wished.
