Turn an image ( jpg, gif, png, swf ) or a Movieclip into a water effect. Useful for banners, buttons, logos, etc … Only code, without more necessary elements. Very easy to configure with parameters of auto surf, auto rain, wave, intensity and mouse controls.
The Package includes simple FLA and this demo FLA with simple help

This is a great little piece of code, is there any way for the script to not sit the MC ontop of everythin else on the stage??
I basically want to mask part of the image out to make sure when the water effect takes place it doesnt warp the edges..
thanks

I have no AS experience at all and I figured it out. Even without a help text.

I can apply this effect if I’ve already loaded a jpg into my library and have assigned a linkage name. But I’ve tried to apply the effect on a movie clip
that dynamically loads an external jpg like: this.loadMovie(“xxx.jpg”
;
and I could not apply the effect. If I dont want to apply the effect the jpg file is loaded into mc without problems. But if I want to apply effect
the jpg in the mc dissapear or is there but with no effect.
Can I do something to apply the effect on a dynamically loaded jpg,
or if I cant, then could you make one like this?
Hi – is there a way to make the effect fade away more quickly?
Other than that I think this is very good!

can someone please help with this? NO response from anyone in days. This effect works but I have issues with it. I need to apply the effect to a portion of a jpg, so I need to tell it (x y) where I need it to be applied, or use a mask somehow. Any comments are appreicated.

@sclapham I suggest you to cut the portion of jpg wich you want to apply effect, then convert it to a movie and then apply effect to that movie. I know it’s kind of noobie advice what I suggest but maybe you will find it useful.
