It took me a while, but I finally managed to find some time for a new file. Here it is.

This Web2.0 style photoalbum has some really nice features: - XML loaded thumnails and settings - Custom image sizes - Unlimited number of images - Zooming - Scrollwheel control - Optional reflections - Tooltip including multiple captions

Documentation You might want to take a look at the documentation file. It also comes with the package.

There is a bug in the scroll wheel option.. if you set the thumbs to center align there is no last thumb set so you can scroll off all the thumbs… Switching back to bottom align keeps this bug.

Actually that’s not a bug in the real file but in the preview file only. I forgot to reset the total when pressing apply. This causes flash to think there are twice as many images in total. So neither does it have anything to do with the alignment but only with pressing the apply button, and you won’t encounter this problem when using the file in your own projects.

victor, i’ve been thinking about it, but this was supposed to be a photoalbum only for showing photos. But, if I do get a lot of requests like yours I’ll reimplement the button functionalities and upload it as a new file.

Phontsolo, thanks. You can add movieclips, just save them as separate .swf files and treat them like normal images. So instead of putting image.jpg in the xml file, you’d put movieclip.swf in there.

Phontsolo, the photo will stay on the same position it was when you clicked it. As for now that’s the way it is, but if you have the AS experience you could change its position to whatever you like…

Update online, sorry about that Jurgen,

when i compile a preview the swf has to have a particular name, and when i changed your swf’s name it stopped the file from working, it showed up in the html but no pics, it was having trouble finding the xml, so i changed the xml file name to match the swf name and, presto

file works

Lets say that if i put this on a bottom of a page then when you select one of the photos and it gets bigger the photo would get cut off by the bottom of the browser. But still man, i love this file. It would be great that in version 2 you can select the position of the photo when it gets bigger.

I would purchase as well V2 which would allow for specific positioning. However, i am experienced in AS so I could probably tweak it but you’d have to guide me to the right place.

QUESTION : Is it possible to tween the thumb as it becomes full size (ex: the thumb is grayscale and the large pic becomes colored)?

Hi,

Great file – I am having a lot of difficulty in preloading the images – even preloading the file would be good – I’ve tried several different loaders but am having no luck.

In some cases, I need to load in 10 images, and there is no way my client is going to be pleased if he has to wait until all the images have cached with no indication of progress.

Please help!
