XML driven flash gallery with scrolling thumbnail menu flash MX2004 .

I’ve build this gallery with usability and simplicity in mind, so even someone that has never seen this kind of photo gallery in their life can instinctively know how to use it.

The actions are very well documented with little notes, so you can customize it 100%.

It’s very easy to use and integrate into your website or other projects.

Background, speed and many other features can be customized.

All the info you will need is in the help.txt file of the download archive and in the script.

nice just what iv been lookin for somthing clean and to the point thanks

Thanks 2 u 2! That was exactly the point. I’ve created something that gets the job done without fancy stuff. Design taste can be different for different persons and for that reason I’ve kept it simple and user friendly. If you want to customize this gallery you can do it by your taste. That is the overall idea. ;)

I would also like to know an answer for what Chinaski asked. Plus I also wanted to know how hard it would be to throw a category drop down on this?

Posted 9 months ago

@chinaskiYou can change the size of the thumbs from AS and the number of thumbs from the XML file. It’s easy ;) @xdozex: It’s not hard if you know some actionscript.

Would it be hard to create a text descriptor so that when the mouse rolls over the image, a text area becomes visible with your file?

Posted 9 months ago

@hughnef: If you know actionscript it’s not hard. ;)

Hey I bought the script and have to say its easy to use and every line of code is very well explained, so 5 Stars for that. But i have a problem with the application, theres a need for me to limit the scrolling effect just to the scrollbar and not like it is now to the whole MC. Once activated the Bar is scrolling even when i go with the mouse over the large Image. Is there a way to stop this? Hope you can help me soon!

best regards

@sabandija – I don’t really understand… what scrollbar? in my application there is no scroll bar… I only have the mc with the thumbnails… please contact me through flashden with more details if you are trying to modify the application with a scroll bar or something like that…

hi rocksil, on your XML based photo gallery you say in your help doc that you simply copy over the Movie from the Library over to your own lfash doc and make sure the xml doc is in the same directory. Ive done both those things but when you test it, it doesnt work any ideas? Im using Flash CS3

thanks vernon (UK)

This seems to be good for Landscape pics, but what about portrait pics? Will it stretch, crop or apply blank sidebars? if that is the case (sidebars), then would it be the background color?

I want to buy, but i need to know this first.

Hello,

First awesome script. I seem to have run into a bug where I have added 12 images, but it stops at 10 on the actual scrolling panel. I am able to see the cut-off 11th image, but the scroll stops on the 10th.

I am not too solid on AS, but is there a modification I must to do?

Appreciate it and really great product.
