An XML based calendar that can store dates from 1901 to 2099. Features:
Version 2 is out. Check it out here
•Just drag and drop the file into your projects.
•Single XML file that holds all the data and very easy to edit.
•Only the years listed in the XML file will be available for selection (not all the years from 1901 to 2099). This helps in choosing only the years that have events in them.
•Months and dates having events are highlighted.
•Mouse over the date to get the details of the event
•Complete help file included.
•All the code is commented to help you understand easily.
•All library elements are named for easy organisation.
•Click on the ‘plus’ sign beside the year or month box to get a list of months and years that can be selected.
•You can find the current system date and time at the bottom.
The dates and events given in the preview are some important dates in the history. Some are in the context of India. The calendar can be extended to any date. The theory of how the day is calculated based on a base date(here 01-01-1900) is given here Based on what is given in the link I designed this calendar for a date range of 1901 to 2099.

is this easily re-sizable? your calender would work great as a sidebar calendar but what if i wanted to use it as the main content of a page.

@Brandon – yup, it can be resized very easily… I can help you out in this regard…

@Brandon – here u should note that the font I have used is a pixel font and pixel fonts look great only at some sizes. At other sizes, they get distorted. So if you have to resize it, you can use another font, the normal ones that look good at any size.

@amirahmed:
sorry for the late reply… the file does come with the source AS… but I’m not sure if it will display what you want… As mentioned above, I took the algorithm for the dates from another site. If you can understnd that and you re good at scripting, I’m sure the file will be very usefull to you…

I really like this format – very unique – and I am considering it for my website. I did see your reply about changing size, but how easy is it to change color? Does it use a separate CSS file for that?
Posted 7 months ago
well, it doesn’t use any separate css for that… you will have to edit the colours of the symbols and text from the Flash. Since the library is very well organised, I believe it won’t be very difficult doing that… In case you run into problems, I can help you out…
Anyways, today I got my latest version of the file up on FlashDen. You may want to have a look at it here
