File Name:- Fade And Slide Gal Size:- 60kb (20kb if arial is used instead of font currently in use)

My first attempt at an XML Gallery!!!

Features:-

1. Fully Dynamic. All Images are loaded externally via XML . This Gallery supports unlimited images.

2. Fade effects, going to the nex prev 5 images fades out then in all images.

3. Sliding display, not going to explain it, just check it out

Image Sizes:-

fullsize = 770×480 thumbs = 110×100

Please ignore the distortion on the images i used, i threw them through photoshop to get them done quickly, spend some time with your images to crop and resize to give the best slideshow you can.

Instructions For implementation:-

Its as easy as 1-2-3

1. Drag and drop the movieclip into your project

2. edit the simple XML file

3. put your images in the image folder and thumbnails in the thumbs folder

And its ready to go.

I think this is one of the best image viewers. ( Even though I don’t like a gray(or is it grey?) backgroundcolor)

Hi, I purchased this slide show (great by the way) and was wondering if it’s possible to change the speed that the thumbnails load/unload? Any advice on this would be much appreciated…

The thumbnails are loaded using onEnterFrame, You could either speed up the frame rate or if u know a little coding i will post some edited code in a few hours as im not at my computer.

if you know a little AS you can edit the part of the code that says

thumb1._alpha += NUMBER

just increase the number a little and play about with it :)

Or wait a few hours and i will give detailed instructions :)

Awesome. Thanks for the response. So changing the your code

thumb1._alpha+=5

to something like

thumb1._alpha+=20

will make the fade in go faster, right?

One more thing, is it possible to have 3 thumbnail images, instead of 5? Say for example, I wanted to remove thumb4 and thumb5? I understand I can simply delete the movie clip that loads the thumb, but then how do I modify the AS to only load 3 thumbs?

Again, any is much appreciated…

doing three thumbs is a little more tricky. You will have to delete any references to thumbs four and five in the code.

when i get chance i will do this for you.

i have changed the number of thumbs to three and also sped up the fade animations for you.

I will do this edit for you for free seeing as it is your first purchase / edit with me. Usually i charge at my freelance rate for these things but you dont need to worry about that this time

I’ve gotta tell anyone needing some great flash work, look no further.

“Flashjunkie” (a.k.a. Jay) really went above and beyond anything he needed to do. The file itself was coded very cleanly, and I could have made the changes I needed with due time – but “Flashjunkie” went ahead and did the changes for me, for absolutely free… just a really awesome thing to do.

Besides the fact that the AS was well organized, and the graphics were top notch – he just seems like a good guy.

I would definitely buy from “Flashjunkie” again.

Hello Jay,

I am wondering if it is possible to change the buttons at the bottom of the gallery to graphics instead of images and arrows. I would also like to exclude the arrow that marks the current button and simply have a graphic be highlighted.

reese, yes this can be done quite easily just upload transparent.png’s and reference them in the xml, as for the highlight, that is quite simple too, if u run into anyproblems, give me an email, i am very busy at the moment but will get back to you asap
