XML IMAGE SLIDER GALLERY

Hi,

Making a gallery display @ the start is easy!

in the frame labeled ”// all other as”, you just need to comment out the code at the bottom:

createHolders(0, 0 )

then, just replace the numbers according to the gallery you want to load (the example above would load the first gallery from the first set).

In response to your question:

To Change the way the slider moves:

All you have to do is on the frame marked ”// move content” on the main timeline, replace line 55 onwards with the following code:

All I have done, is rewrite the code so that initiates onEnterFrame, instead of mouseMove. I then check the mouse position, and if it is more than half the width, I move the slider right and visa versa.

There is also a new variable I have called “speedX”, this number controls the speed of scroll. Change this to get the desired effect.

Also, by commenting out the line of code that centres the content, The first image will always be displayed.

The image slider is completely dynamic. When it loads in the external image from the xml for the larger preview. It does not scale it in anyway. In the preview I chose to have images no larger than 500pixels so that they loaded in quickly.

You can have whatever size images you like.

Also, all the images can be different heights and the flash file will make them all the same height in the slider.

Thanks for purchasing the file. It is really easy to change the graphics within the image slider.

On frame 20 of the movie (labeled “dynamic”, you will find all of the dynamic elements that are used within the file. The 2 elements that you have asked for are named “btn_name” and “btn_portfolio”. You can change the graphics within these. To change the background colour for example, just change the graphic within with the instance name “bg_mc”.

It is this frame that has all of the other graphics used, so you can skin the image gallery to your hearts content.

You can load .swf files into the gallery, so you could quite easily embed flv files into each .swf if you wish to
