HI can you add an image to each news feed?

Easy to edit news ticker. Just change the info in the xml file. Add as many articles as you like.

Sorry it took so long to respond, I didn’t realize you left a post. Yes you can add an image to each feed, it will take some work though. If its something you are interested in, drop me an email and I’ll work out the kinks for you.

Hi, great file!
I would like to know how you go about changing the font colours?
I would like to change the title of each article for example to #6FB539. Do i do this in the XML , and if so, how do i add this to the XML .
Thanks

No, you have to open the .fla and edit it in there. There is a layer called “textboxes”, click on the dynamic text box you want to change and choose the color in the properties panel.

Super! Works great.
One question: How do I prevent browsers from caching this so that viewers will see the newest news? Do I have to just hope that this works?

To any questions that have gone unanswered here…I am sorry but I do not often get a chance to check these pages. It is best to contact me via email, as I will respond within a day.
As far as caching the newsfeed, it should not be an issue. The reader pulls the info from an XML file, just like a regular RSS feed does.

I bought the file, and it works great as a stand alone on anything I use the loadMovie method. However, I have a pretty complex flash site that the swf loads, and I get the “Hello swf,” but no content in the text boxes. Thanks for the help.

Great file and very simple to change. But how can I put a pause button in the script to stop the ticker. One more idea is I would like to see more feature in the xml file like how fast the ticker fades and extra buttons to turn on and off like the pause button and read me button.
Can you please contact me: webadmin_at_bethanyc.com
All in all great XML Ticker.

I just noticed that when I make a change in xml file it does not change instantly in Internet Explorer and sometimes never. In Firefox and Safari they change instantly. Is there a problem with this script running in Internet Explorer?
Or do you have patch?
Thanks

Digitalmarks,
I sent you an email regarding your first post, but never received a response. As far as the IE issue, I’m going to guess that the data is being cached. I’m not really sure if there is a way to fix this or not. Perhaps some of the other flash developers on Flashden will know?
