Semi Newbie Friendly: A little knowledge in Actionscripting or Flash required.

An awesome XML driven Menu and sub menu generator.

-Unlimited buttons! -2 Levels, a main menu and sub menus (under each main menu) -Linkable buttons to websites -Fade in animation on mouse over -Easy to use, great for your own personal web design! -Customisable XML sheet included

Instructions: Step 1: Open up the button project file. Step 2: Copy the MC (should look like it has 2 empty buttons in there) and paste it into your project. Step 3: Make sure the XML file is in the same directory as your exited swf.

(Uses flash 8 and actionscript 2.0)

Any problems feel free to email me (I don’t look through comments too often) details in the readme text file.

This works great, but I am having trouble getting links to open in the same window. By default it opens in a new window, and I can’t find a way to get a _self command working.

Can you provide an example where this is incorporated into a link?

Hi mate. Sorry for late reply.

The generated buttons are basically clones of whats in the project file (one main menu and one invisible which is the sub menu)

Double click the desired button group and go down the tree a little. Then hit F9 for the actionscript to come up.

There will be a script there that says:

getURL (etc”,”_blank”;)

Change the blank to _self. Remember you MUST upload your site to your web server for it to work apparently. So previewing your site on your computer won’t link to the same window.

Sharky, Just purchased this file and I am trying to cange the movie size to 1040×240, change the background out with my background, and also change the glow of the button to an orange & black from the blue and black. Can you let me know where the background can be changed and the color of the button. I am new to xml but i have a question. If I change the swf to be a transparent swf in the wmode, if my background is onlt 35px tall and the swf 240 tall will the drop down links be visible over the html page below it? Thanks for your help.

If you want to change the background colour, simply open up the movieclip (you have have to open it twice) until you reach down the group hirarchy.

Alternatively you can just open up from the library mainbuttonobj or submenubuttton (i think that’s what the name is) and change the animation tweens there.

for the transparent background you just copy and paste the button (the main button holder) into a new project and specify your project size. Just don’t copy the background :)

Hi

a very quick one, i wish to have this menu at the top of my webpage but find i haver to leave a very large blank below this to allow the menus to drop down , is there a way the drop down can go over the top of the text immediately below it

for example at this moment

header=========== menu =========== space allowing for drop down space allowing for drop down space allowing for drop down space allowing for drop down space allowing for drop down

text body of webpage

can it be

headewr menu text body over layed with drop down if selected

I have saved my XML file in UTF -8 format and have EMBED the Greek characters in my FLA file, but no result…

Hi I need something like this Menu. But, what I am want to know before I purchase this file. Can I use the xml to make three or four columns of buttons? The don’t need to be sub menu’s. I’m looking for all theses buttons to be visible in one shot on the page.

I need to have 78 buttons on a page in four columns Which I would like to make an xml driven menu system. Each button having it’s own function.

Is it possible to do this with your file. If so I will buy it.
